What I do is paint.
Why I paint is to inspire others to express themselves and do what matters. I do this not just through my artwork, but through creativity workshops and sharing my thoughts on creativity through my blog.
My paintings are a result of two things: I either paint what I love and share that with my customers, or I paint to create a lasting impression of my customer’s most treasured life experiences. I call these commissioned paintings “Moments that Matter.”
One lovely aspect of my work as an artist is seeing how differently each person responds to what I create. When I paint what I love, or when I create a commission piece from a moment that matters to a client, the genuine emotional response the painting triggers is, to me, what art is all about.
When I retired in 2009, I kicked off my corporate heels and picked up a paint brush. My childhood desire to paint became a reality as I learned from local Michigan artists and studied online, then traveled to Hawaii and Italy to study and grow as an artist.
My art is displayed in Brighton, and I host an annual “Cocktails & Creations” Art Show at my home studio. I also offer creativity workshops, calling on my background in training and education, to help others learn to be more creative, express themselves, and do what really matters in their lives. I love to share my passion for learning, teaching and growing with other artists, and help them define their own creative and professional path.
